Warranty Policy

1-Year Warranty Policy

1. Scope of Warranty

This Warranty Policy applies to Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) equipment supplied and sold by Leve-Tech Engineering Ltd within the United Kingdom. This policy is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under UK consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

2. Warranty Period

All LEV equipment is warranted for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery to the original purchaser (the “Warranty Period”).

3. What Is Covered

During the Warranty Period, Leve-Tech warrants that the LEV equipment:

  • Is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal and proper use.
  • Conforms substantially to the specifications agreed at the time of sale.

If a defect covered by this warranty arises during the Warranty Period, we will, at our discretion:

  • Repair the defective component, or
  • Replace the defective component or equipment, or
  • Provide a refund for the defective part or equipment.

4. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by improper installation, misuse, abuse, negligence, or operation contrary to manufacturer instructions.
  • Failure resulting from inadequate maintenance or cleaning.
  • Modifications, alterations, or repairs carried out by persons not authorised by Leve-Tech Engineering Ltd.
  • Consumable parts, including but not limited to filters, belts, seals, and flexible ducting, unless defective at the time of delivery.
  • Damage caused by external factors such as power surges, fire, flooding, corrosion, or chemical exposure.
  • Equipment used outside its intended application or design parameters.

5. Installation and Compliance

Where installation is not carried out by Leve-Tech Engineering Ltd or its approved contractors, this warranty is conditional upon:

  • Installation being completed in accordance with manufacturer instructions and relevant UK standards.
  • Compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, including COSHH and HSE guidance (e.g. HSG258)

Any failure attributable to non-compliant installation or system design is excluded from this warranty.

6. LEV Testing and Examination

This warranty does not replace or remove the requirement for statutory Thorough Examination and Testing (TExT) of LEV systems under COSHH regulations. Defects identified during statutory testing that are not due to manufacturing faults are not covered.

7. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim, the purchaser must:

  1. Notify Leve-Tech Engineering Ltd in writing within the Warranty Period.
  2. Provide proof of purchase and delivery date.
  3. Provide a clear description of the fault and, where requested, photographs or test results.
  4. Allow reasonable access for inspection, if required.

Unauthorised returns will not be accepted. Any equipment returned must be securely packaged and clearly labelled.

8. Costs and Liability

  • This warranty covers parts and labour for approved repairs or replacements only.
  • Removal, reinstallation, access equipment, downtime, production losses, or consequential losses are not covered.
  • Where equipment must be returned, carriage costs may be the responsibility of the purchaser unless otherwise agreed in writing.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Leve-Tech Engineering Ltd shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use or failure of the LEV equipment. Nothing in this policy limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Transferability

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable without the prior written consent of Leve-Tech Engineering Ltd.

11. Governing Law

This Warranty Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
